During this captivating holiday in Cornwall, we stay in Newquay, voted one of the nation’s favourite seaside towns perched on Cornwall’s Atlantic cliffs. William Golding once lived here, the author of the ‘Lord of the Flies’. We visit Jamaica Inn on the Bodmin Moors where Daphne Du Maurier was inspired by her love of Cornwall by writing several famous novels including ‘Jamaica Inn’. Visit St. Mawes where one Cornish man, John Carter from Breage, nicknamed the ‘King of Prussia’ used this harbour as one of secret smuggling coves. Visit Perranporth, where Winston Graham once lived, the author of the famous series ‘Poldark’ and enjoy a coach tour of the dramatic North Cornish coastline where the famous novelist and poet Thomas Hardy met his wife.

Day 1

Depart home area and after making suitable refreshment stops for morning refreshments and lunch to be obtained, we continue to our hotel in Newquay, upon arrival enjoy a welcome cream tea. Time to freshen up before we meet up in the bar at 6pm for a glass of Cornish cider followed by your evening meal.

Day 2

This morning visit the award-winning Skinners Brewery which offers a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes, followed by a tutored beer tasting in the brewery's tap room. The tour is led by an experienced guide who'll teach us the brewing process, share their entertaining stories of the brewery and provide a fascinating insight into their ale. Afterwards we visit Truro, Cornwall's county town and only city. Truro Cathedral is centre stage with its impressive gothic towers ruling the skyline. In its shadow, compact streets are home to an impressive array of independent shops. Time here to obtain lunch and free time before returning to your hotel for time to relax or enjoy the hotel leisure facilities before your traditional fish and chip supper.

Day 3

This morning enjoy a scenic coastal coach tour of 'Poldark' country. We travel to St. Ives and have some free time to explore, we then continue via St. Agnes, and onto Perranporth for a quick stop before returning to Newquay spending the rest of the afternoon at leisure and/or to use the hotel leisure facilities. After dinner tonight there will be live Cornish entertainment in the Bay bar.

Day 4

Today enjoy a scenic coach ride of the north Cornwall coastline. Our first stop is the charming village of Padstow situated at the head of the Camel River. We then continue along the
coastal road towards Boscastle where we turn off and continue to Launceston for free time and lunch to be obtained. We return to our hotel via the Bodmin Moors and stop at the famous
Jamaica Inn, Cornwall's most famous smugglers inn. We then continue to our hotel with time to freshen up before your 5-course taster menu this evening sampling Cornish seafood with a glass of Camel Valley sparkling wine.

Return to home area making suitable refreshment stops en-route.
