G&K Shared Tour
We have been working behind the scenes with Kirbys to be able to offer you an even wider range of UK and Continental Holidays, this enables us to offer you more choice and some exciting NEW destinations. As these Holidays will be offered by both companies, we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment.
Day 1
After a suitable comfort stop, travel to Salisbury for lunch to be purchased, known as 'the city in the countryside' and is home to beautiful timbered buildings, an English Gothic Cathedral (home to the Magna Carta), there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. We then continue to our hotel and are welcomed by their friendly staff. Enjoy a cup of tea whilst our luggage is taken to our bedroom.
DDay 2
Enjoy a free morning in Dawlish, a delightful regency coastal town huddled attractively between steep surrounding hills. The Strand (1803-1809), although mostly converted to shops remains impressive. It was here that Jane Austen stayed, as did Charles Dickens (who decided to make Dawlish the birthplace of Nicholas Nickleby). See the famous black swans on the Lake in 'The Lawn'. In the afternoon we travel a short distance and along the coast to Teignmouth, a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches and fresh local food.
B, DDay 3
Today we visit Exeter, an ancient city on the River Exe. Dating back to Roman era, the Exeter city walls surround its centre and Gothic Cathedral. Take the opportunity to walk along medieval passages under Exeter High Street dating back to the 14th century (price not included, approx. £6 pp), browse the many shops or visit Exeter's famous Cathedral. In the afternoon we visit one of Devon's most famous places to visit, the Donkey Sanctuary, situated just outside Sidmouth. There are hundreds of donkeys waiting to meet us.
B, DDay 4
This morning we travel over the Dartmoor National Park to Widecombe in the Moor, a quiet village surrounded by moorland with links that date back to medieval times. There is a church, pubs and shops within the village making it a 'must visit' location. Afterwards we re-trace our outward journey through the Dartmoor National Park and travel to Newton Abbot, a historic market town surrounded by glorious countryside. The town is home to a large range of shops and eateries.
Day 5
Return to home area stopping in Shaftesbury, famous for the 1970's Hovis Advert on Gold Hill, for lunch to be purchased.
BB=Breakfast Included, D=Evening Meal Included
