We depart home area and make our way to Peterborough for our lunch stop. We continue to our hotel and enjoy a welcome cup of tea/coffee upon arrival whilst our luggage is taken to our room.D
Today we make our way to Cromford, where we enjoy a 2-hour cruise to Leawood through the picturesque Derwent Valley. Afterwards we head for Matlock with time to obtain lunch before our afternoon visit to the Crich Tramway Museum, a period village museum where we can enjoy travelling along the traditional village street on a vintage tram, viewing the various exhibitions and marvelling at the spectacular views.B, D
Morning at leisure in Derby. Look around Britain's first purpose-built market hall or maybe visit the Royal Crown Derby Retail Shop, an emporium of Royal Crown Derby's exquisite fine bone china. There is also the Cathedral Quarter to browse with many independent shops and great cafes. Time to purchase lunch here before departing for your afternoon visit to the National Brewery Centre located in Burton on Trent and discover the history, art and fun of brewing followed by tastings. Today we head to the heart of the Peak District and visit the stunning Chatsworth House & Gardens today, home of the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire which has been passed down through 16 generations of the Cavendish family. The 105-acre Gardens are famous for its rich history, modern waterworks and sculptures, and its Victorian rock garden. The house reveals 30 sumptuous rooms plus a diverse collection of art; look at the memorable illusionist painting of the violin hanging on a door. Time here to explore and to purchase lunch. Afterwards we visit the charming market town, Bakewell, in the Derbyshire Dales. Opportunity to purchase and bring home a traditional Bakewell pudding!B, D
We depart our hotel and stop in delightful Stamford, where there are over 600 grade II listed buildings. This town has been used as a backdrop for many period dramas like Pride & Prejudice. Time at leisure here and to purchase lunch before returning home.B

This hotel is one of the first built Victorian railway hotels in the UK and was frequented by Queen Victoria herself. With its own sense of tradition, character, elegance and charm, the hotel is located within walking distance of the city centre. The restaurant offers an intimate dining experience and there is an elegant bar and lounge.
