Day 1
Depart from your home and travel to Grantham where we spend some time at Downtown before continuing to our hotel where we will be served with tea and biscuits.
DDay 2
After breakfast we head for Lincoln, dominated by the magnificent Cathedral towering over the red roofs of the city. The day is free for you, with lots and lots of fabulous Christmas market stalls to explore and search for that special gift. Brass Bands, Morris Men and Bell Ringers provide street entertainment and the event is a memorable experience.
B, DDay 3
Today we have a drive to the historic Nottinghamshire town of Newark-on-Trent. Our first visit is to the excellent National Civil War Centre taking us back to the time of King Charles and Oliver Cromwell. The centre offers lots of interest and the Nineteen20 Café-Bar is an ideal place for a drink and bite to eat.
Today is the annual Newark Christmas Market, held in the town's market square. Whilst here we include entry to the Christmas Tree Festival in the magnificent setting of Newark Parish Church, a short walk from the market square. The festival fun includes Christmas trees which will be beautifully decorated by local schools, organisations and businesses.
Day 4
Departing after breakfast we make the journey home, pausing at Ely on the way.

The Olde Barn Hotel Grantham is a delightful tranquil retreat set in beautiful Lincolnshire countryside near the village of Marston. The hotel – a member of ‘Tastes of Lincolnshire’ – prides itself on the quality of its food and hotel facilities include Health Club & Spa with indoor swimming pool, Sauna & Spa. All bedrooms are en suite and have television, telephone, hairdryer and tea & coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
