The famous Terracotta Warriors are an army of intricately-carved sculptures of the soldiers of China’s first Emperor, Qin Shi Huang.
Discovered in 1974, the Terracotta soldiers are believed to date back to the third century BC, and were sculpted to guard Qin Shi Huangs tomb. The unique Chinese Terracotta soldiers are returning to the UK for the first time in a decade and are being exhibited alongside fascinating ancient Chinese artefacts never seen before in the UK at Liverpools World Museum.

Terracotta Army Exhibition
We depart local pick up points for the journey to the medieval City of Chester, a city rich in history and heritage, evident in the 13th century Rows, gothic cathedral and Roman walls. We continue to our hotel in Liverpool with free time before checking in to our hotel for a two night stay and enjoy a 3 course evening meal.
For over 2,000 years, an underground army of terracotta warriors secretly guarded the tomb of China’s first emperor until a chance discovery in 1974 unlocked the mysteries of a vanished empire. One of the world’s greatest archaeological discoveries, this unmissable exhibition spans 1,000 years of Chinese history, containing objects never before on display in the UK and will shed light on the Emperor’s pursuit of immortality. There will also be free time to explore the city itself.
After breakfast we visit the redeveloped waterside area of Salford Quays in Manchester. There will be time to visit the Lowry Galleries, Imperial War Museum North (entrances not included) or maybe do a spot of shopping. We re-join our coach by mid afternoon for the journey home to East Anglia, arriving mid evening.B
