G&K Shared Tour

We have been working behind the scenes with Galloway to be able to offer you an even wider range of UK and Continental Holidays, this enables us to offer you more choice and some exciting NEW destinations. As these Holidays will be offered by both companies, we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment.

Day 1

We depart home area and make our way to our hotel making suitable refreshment stops. Our lunch stop will be in Coventry with opportunity to visit the famous Transport Museum or purchase lunch in one of the many restaurants the town centre has to offer.

D

Day 2

This morning we visit charming Chester, first founded as a Roman fortress in the 1st century A.D. It is known for its extensive Roman walks and in the old city, the Rows are distinguished to 2-level shopping arcades and Tudor style half-timbered buildings. Enjoy a 30-minute cruise on the River Dee including commentary. In the afternoon visit Ness Botanic Gardens, located on the Wirral peninsula. These award-winning superb gardens which overlook the Dee Estuary were founded in 1898 by Arthur Kilpin Bulley, a Liverpool cotton merchant with a passion for gardens and for plant collecting. The gardens were donated to The University of Liverpool in 1948 by Lois Bulley, the daughter of the founder. A visit to these gardens is not to be missed!

B, D

Day 3

Today enjoy a leisurely drive past Ruthin before travelling over the spectacular Horseshoe Pass, known in Welsh as Bwlch yr Oernant (pass of the cold stream) to the market town of Llangollen. Enjoy free time here to purchase lunch before a short coach ride to Froncysylite to join a canal cruise on a brightly coloured narrowboat, where you will sail across the Pontcyslite Aqueduct, or 'Steam in the Sky', then through the beautiful Vale of Llangollen. An interesting commentary will give you an insight into the history of the area and other canals in the UK.

B, D

Day 4

Today we travel to Northwich for a ride on the magnificent Anderton Boat Lift. Originally built in 1875, the structure lifts passengers aboard the elegant Edwin Clark boat from the River Weaver to the Trent and Mersey Canal high above. A visitor centre houses an exhibition focusing on the lift's history, so you can get close to the action. Afterwards we return to our hotel for the afternoon for us to enjoy the hotel leisure facilities or enjoy an afternoon visit to Chester Zoo. (£26.36 extra person to paid at time of booking your holiday). Chester Zoo is one of the best Zoo's in the country to visit. They are very passionate about what they do; whether it's creating a brilliant time for you or working with endangered wildlife from around the world. There are over 20,000 animals and 128 acres of zoological gardens to explore.
