Day 1

Depart home area and head to Yorkshire making suitable comfort stops along the way, including time in Newark for lunch to be purchased. Through the oak front doors, reminiscent of a bygone age, we enter the Raven Hall Hotel and at once experience that feeling of 'home coming'. Arrive with time to freshen up before our evening meal.

Day 2

Today we travel across the North York Moors National Park and visit the small town of Pickering for morning refreshments to be obtained. We then continue to the Eden Camp where we will be transported back to experience the sights, sounds and smells of wartime Britain all within an original POW Camp. In the afternoon we return to our hotel stopping in Goathland for afternoon tea to be purchased. Goathland station was 'Hogsmeade' station in the Harry Potter films. Goathland also doubled as the fictional 'Aidensfield' in the Heartbeat TV Series.

Day 3

After breakfast join our driver and travel to York for the day. York boasts a wealth of pubs and many museums, all built around well-preserved medieval features such as the old city walls, York Minster, Clifford's Tower and The Shambles. Return to the hotel later with time to freshen up before our evening meal.

Day 4

After breakfast visit Scarborough. The town centre boasts the Brunswick Shopping Centre. Afterwards we visit Whitby. Opportunity to treat ourselves to the famous Whitby fish & chips for lunch. See the gothic Whitby Abbey, which was Bram Stockers inspiration for "Dracula". Nearby is the Church of St Mary, reached by 199 steps. Opportunity to visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum (price not included), in the house where cook once lived.

Day 5

After breakfast return to home area making suitable comfort stops along the way, including time in Stamford for lunch to be purchased.
