Day 1
Following collection from home we head to Swindon pausing in Henley on Thames on the way.
DDay 2
Our excursion today takes us to Devizes and the famous Caen Hill Locks, a staircase of 16 locks on the Kennet and Avon canal. From here we continue across Salisbury Plain past historic Stonehenge to Amesbury and the Cathedral City of Salisbury. Here we have time for lunch and to explore the city before we head back to our hotel.
B, DDay 3
Our day begins with a ride to the beautiful Georgian City of Bath. We are met by our guide and enjoy a tour of the sights. Attractions include the 15th century Abbey, the Roman Baths and Museum, 18th century Pump Rooms and the famous crescents. We have time for lunch - maybe at Sally Lunn's, home of the Bath Bun - and free time before we return to our hotel.
B, DDay 4
We enjoy a free day to explore Swindon. Perhaps visit the McArtherGlen Designer Outlet for some retail therapy or 'Steam' the museum of the Great Western Railway. Built on part of the old British Railways locomotive works, this is well worth a visit.
B, DDay 5
This morning we begin with a visit to Adam's Farm - the Cotswolds Farm Park as featured on TV. Adam Henson's farm is the home of Rare Breeds Conservation and is devoted to the protection of endangered species. There is much to see before we continue to beautiful Bourton-on-the-Water, a delightful village with the River Windrush flowing quietly through. We have time for lunch here before our afternoon visit to the Birdland Park and Gardens. Discover the weird and wonderful species of birds from all over the world and take a scenic walk around the 50 themed habitats.
B, DDay 6
We enjoy a leisurely morning in Chippenham, a historic market town with a population of over 40,000. The combination of old and new, the historic architectural gems and modern shopping centres make this an ideal place to explore. This afternoon we have a short drive to beautiful Bradford-on-Avon for a short break before moving on to the time warp village of Lacock, famous for its picturesque streets and as a location for TV and film.
B, DDay 7
Departing after breakfast, we head home, with a stop at Windsor on the way.
