Day 1

Following collection from home, travel to Germany to spend the night in the Saarbrucken area.

Day 2

After breakfast, continue the journey through Germany into the Tyrol region of Austria. The destination is the Jenbacherhof Hotel for a seven night break with breakfast and dinner. On arrival, enjoy a welcome drink followed by dinner.

Day 3

Today visit the medieval walled town of Rattenberg, the smallest city in Tyrol, known as the provincial capital of glass and crystal. Enjoy a tour of the Kisslinger Glass showroom, the shop here is the perfect place to pick up gifts and souvenirs. After, enjoy an 'apfelstrudel' baking demonstation and tasting with coffee.

Day 4

Enjoy a scenic circuit around the Wilder Kaiser or Wild Emperor Mountains and the Kitzbuhel Alps before stopping in Gasteig at the 'Wilder Kaeser' Cheese Experience museum. Take a tour of the museum and taste great Tyrolean cheese. Before heading to the famous town of Kitzbuhel. On the way back to the hotel, stop at the Tyrolean Schnapps Museum to learn how schnapps is distilled and sample the local firewater.

Day 5

The excursions today start with a visit to Innsbruck, capital of Tyrol. This charming alpine city, hosts of the Winter Olympics in 1964 and 1976, prides itself on its friendly welcome. Visit the Ambras Castle, a Renaissance jewel built in the 16th Century and lying in the hills above Innsbruck. Discover its fascinating history on a guiided tour before taking a trip out on the Stubaitalbahn, a narrow-gauge tram line first opened in 1904 connecting Innsbruck to the surrounding snow-covered mountain hamlets. The scenic journey travels past icy forests and Alpine meadows laden with snow, to more than 1,000 metres at the lines peak.

Day 6

After breakfast today experience the joy of a horse drawn sleigh ride as you pass through a breathtaking winter's landscape (tour may be on wheels depending on the weather). In the afternoon enjoy a unique winter experience on the Piinzgau Winter Tale railway to the icy Krimml Falls. A guided torchlight walk to the foot of the illuminated frozen waterfalls, to experience an unforgettable glittering world of ice awaits before enjoying dinner at Hanke's restaurant at the Krimml waterfalls.

Day 7

This morning say goodbye to the Jenbacherhof and head back to the overnight hotel in Germany.

Its time to travel home to East Anglia where the door to door service will be waiting to return you home.

In Austria, stay at the 4 star Hotel Jenbacherhof, situated a mere 500 metres from the train station, right in the centre of Jenbach. A small traditional Inn until 1989, it was then turned into a family hotel.
