Suffolk Waterways & Horses

We arrive in Waldringfield where Deben Cruises will welcome us aboard Jahan for a 2 hour boat journey along the scenic and picturesque River Deben. The tidal Deben Estuary is a Special Protection Area and your on board commentary will tell you all about the rich wildlife and history of this beautiful part of the East Coast.

After our boat trip we venture a short way inland to visit the Suffolk Punch Trust and discover its work with the endangered Suffolk Punch Horse. The Suffolk Punch is the oldest English breed of working horse and it has been so important to the farming landscape of East Anglia. This is the perfect place to meet these magnificent horses and to find out more about how they shaped the landscape of Suffolk. We start our visit here with a sandwich lunch before enjoying an introductory talk and guided tractor tour to learn more about the vital work of the Suffolk Punch Trust. Take time during your afternoon to visit the Heritage Museum which displays a wonderful collection of artefacts.

10.30am River Deben boat trip

12.30pm Arrive back at boat yard in Waldringfield to rejoin coach to travel to Suffolk Punch Trust

1.15pm Arrive Suffolk Punch trust for included sandwich lunch

2.15pm Introductory talk and Trailer Tour

4.00pm Depart
